This is how mine turned out. The eyes on the green fabric glow in the dark and my boys loved it of course. :)
She said it left the house in a typical Dutch way and included this picture.
I am almost finished with mine and will hopefully be able to send it oft tomorrow.Sandra W.http://www.blogger.com/profile/05798832827888679843noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6298498315440160635.post-38606410659781740622010-10-07T08:40:00.000+09:002010-10-07T08:40:06.778+09:00Fabric scraps<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I keep a lot of fabric scraps no matter how small they are. You never know what you can use them for. :)) I probably have to go through my box one day and get rid of some since it starts taking up way too much room.

I just found some smaller fabric pieces from a moda Halloween collection I bought last year. It wasn't a lot but still enough to make a large hot pad with. I even had enough left to make another smaller one but I ran out of insulated batting.
But sometimes clothes doesn't fit just right when the kids are born in different seasons. I just went through PJ's clothes from last winter and spring and put everything that doesn't fit him anymore in Ben's dresser.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The other day I put him in one of those pants and they almost fell off of him. Today I decided to try making a belt for him and it wasn't really that hard. I should have just made it a little longer. But it fits him very good and the pants stay up. :)

<span style="color: black; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">All you need to do is comment on this blog entry and tell me what you as a mom or dad, grandma, etc. complain about your diaper bag the most or what do you like about it the best?

Does it drive you nuts to always have to look for the paci? Or is it that there are not enough pockets? Do you love to have an adjustable strap or that it fits around the handles of your stroller?
What would be great to add to a diaper bag? (Sorry, things like an automatic diaper changing station doesn't count... ;)
They had a little safety awarness fest going on at the commissary as well as a big lot sale. Some small vendors sold a bunch of their stuff like sunglasses, nick nacks, and even fabric! He had some great prints but I wasn't really looking for anything since I still have tons at home to work with. Plus he already had them cut in 2 yard pieces and I usually just get 1 yard unless I absolutely love it. He is crazy about cars and trucks so of course it was easy to pick a theme for it.
I actual take some of his toys and try to copy the shapes. I hope it won't take me too long to finish it. :)

Here are two blocks I put together.

Sandra W.http://www.blogger.com/profile/05798832827888679843noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6298498315440160635.post-26764356304166046972010-04-22T18:39:00.004+09:002010-04-22T18:48:00.674+09:00make up caseI've made this make up case for my sister. She looooves cats! I was going to make a small purse with this fabric but it was just not enough and I didn't wanted to mix it with other fabric. So I made her a make up case with a bright pink lining. I also added a little bling bling zipper thingy since she is all about that.

This was my first make up case but I really hate how it gets so thick on each of the zipper ends because of all the fabric and batting. Maybe I will try a different pattern next time. Sandra W.http://www.blogger.com/profile/05798832827888679843noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6298498315440160635.post-54213918665434955932010-04-21T20:15:00.005+09:002010-04-21T20:23:59.930+09:00bibsI've been sewing a lot of bibs for friends and family lately thanks to lazy. :)
She sent me a great pattern but now I almost ran out of the thin batting so I have to start working on something else until I get more.

For some reason this picture always turns after I upload it. So what can you do with them? Here is one idea. Make a basket you can use to put for example rolls, bread, or croissants in it. Or use it for your decorations. Instead of sewing the corners together I decided to sew on some ribbons. This way I can wash them better, iron it if neccessary and even use it as a table topper.

I still need to cut off the threads as you can see in the picture.
