Halloween pillow

Me and two other very crafty ladies made Halloween pillows. This is how mine turned out. The eyes on the green fabric glow in the dark and my boys loved it of course. :)

AccuQuilt GO! Fabric Cutter
The fabric was cut with the AccuQuilt Go! fabric cutter. Love this thing! I already put it on my amazon wish list. :))

Bag swap

Today I received an email from my bag swap partner who lives in the Netherlands, saying my package is on the way. She said it left the house in a typical Dutch way and included this picture.

I really love this! And it made me even more exciteded about the bag.
I am almost finished with mine and will hopefully be able to send it oft tomorrow.

Fabric scraps

I keep a lot of fabric scraps no matter how small they are. You never know what you can use them for. :)) I probably have to go through my box one day and get rid of some since it starts taking up way too much room.

I just found some smaller fabric pieces from a moda Halloween collection I bought last year. It wasn't a lot but still enough to make a large hot pad with. I even had enough left to make another smaller one but I ran out of insulated batting.

Toddler belt

Hand me downs - a great and money saving thing for moms. But sometimes clothes doesn't fit just right when the kids are born in different seasons. I just went through PJ's clothes from last winter and spring and put everything that doesn't fit him anymore in Ben's dresser.

The other day I put him in one of those pants and they almost fell off of him. Today I decided to try making a belt for him and it wasn't really that hard. I should have just made it a little longer. But it fits him very good and the pants stay up. :)

I forgot to take a picture of the cake and cupcakes..I guess I was too busy eating. ;)

swap time!

I signed up for two swaps yesterday.
The first one is a candle mat swap and the second one is called super style bag swap.
I've only done one swap before so I am curious to see how this is going to turn out.

Purse Party

I've been working very hard on my upcoming purse party. I probably should have started sewing bags a while ago and not just 2 weeks prior. lol. sigh.

I am most excited about my reversible pleated purses. One side is a pretty print and the other a plain canvas cotton. Every bag comes with a matching flower which can be used on either side to give it a more detailed look.

Quick little craft project

Here is a little craft project that can be done in just a couple of minutes! Next time you cook, keep one of the glass jars, wash it, and take the lables off. Get some sort of strings or whatever you have at home, some glue, maybe some other little nick nacks (optional) you want to decorate it with and voila!
Use it as a candle jar, vase, or to keep your pens organized.

** GIVEAWAY!! **

You can win this toy organizer and bib.

All you need to do is comment on this blog entry and tell me what you as a mom or dad, grandma, etc. complain about your diaper bag the most or what do you like about it the best?

Does it drive you nuts to always have to look for the paci? Or is it that there are not enough pockets? Do you love to have an adjustable strap or that it fits around the handles of your stroller?
What would be great to add to a diaper bag? (Sorry, things like an automatic diaper changing station doesn't count... ;)
Very curious on what you guys come up with! Be creative!!
I will randomly select a winner on Mon, Aug 9th at 8am South Korea time.

Color combinations! argh!

I always wanted to try out eylets on a bag so here I go... I had this very pretty fabric left I used on a pillow cover for the master bedroom.

I couldn't decide on a fabric for the lining so I picked three. :)

So now I need to decide what color the handles are going to be! I decided to go with leather or fake leather handles instead of the cotton ones I usually make. First I thought about dark brown or even a beige color but then I found these on Amazon:

Still not 100% sure. Need some opinions please! Also, what colors should I use for the ties on the side and the button? sigh. Having a hard time to make pick the right colors for this bag for some reason...

My next project looks like this....

:) I love using every single little piece of fabric.

Summer table topper

I finally finished my summer table topper. I will definitely keep it for myself :) and use it on our little table on the balcony. I might just have to buy a see through table cloth to go on top of it so my boys won't mess it up. haha.

new fabric!

We went to the Yongsan post this weekend. They had a little safety awarness fest going on at the commissary as well as a big lot sale. Some small vendors sold a bunch of their stuff like sunglasses, nick nacks, and even fabric! He had some great prints but I wasn't really looking for anything since I still have tons at home to work with. Plus he already had them cut in 2 yard pieces and I usually just get 1 yard unless I absolutely love it. Anyway, I ended up choosing 3 fabrics and I think I already have some ideas what to use them for. :))

Ben's quilt

I finally started working on Ben's quilt. He is crazy about cars and trucks so of course it was easy to pick a theme for it.
I actual take some of his toys and try to copy the shapes. I hope it won't take me too long to finish it. :)

Here are two blocks I put together.

make up case

I've made this make up case for my sister. She looooves cats! I was going to make a small purse with this fabric but it was just not enough and I didn't wanted to mix it with other fabric. So I made her a make up case with a bright pink lining. I also added a little bling bling zipper thingy since she is all about that.

This was my first make up case but I really hate how it gets so thick on each of the zipper ends because of all the fabric and batting. Maybe I will try a different pattern next time.

bibs

I've been sewing a lot of bibs for friends and family lately thanks to lazy. :)
She sent me a great pattern but now I almost ran out of the thin batting so I have to start working on something else until I get more.

For some reason this picture always turns after I upload it. Sorry! Don't hurt your neck. ;)
